Martin Limon was born in Hull, East Yorkshire and attended local schools before studying for a degree in history at the University of Hull. After graduating, he completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the University of Leeds and went on to teach history in two Hull secondary schools for twenty-six years. After retirement from teaching he wrote a `self-published' book on the history of Wawne Ferry and began writing local history articles for the `East Riding Gazette', `Yorkshire Ridings Magazine' and `The Journal'. His first book, `Tales from the East Riding' was published in 2006 and two years later he published `More Tales from the East Riding'. He currently writes for a number of Yorkshire-based magazines, including `The Journal', `Yorkshire Ridings Magazine' and `The Dalesman'. When not researching and writing, Martin enjoys playing snooker, doing pub quizzes and caravanning both in the UK and France.
