Description:Excerpt from Proceedings of the 47th Annual Meeting of the Stockholders of the Atlantic and North Carolina R. R. Co: Held at New Bern, N. C., Thursday, Sept. 26th, 1901The old foundry is being prepared for a blacksmith shop, and the present blacksmith shop will be thrown into and made a part of the machine shop, thereby affording long needed additional room and enabling repairs to be made upon three engines at the same time, if necessary, instead of only one as at present.The Round House, its pits etc., have been repaired and put in good order. Its roof is rotten, but which with constant repairing and patching, we have, up to this time, been able to make out with it. The demands 'of the Road at more vital points have prevented its repair, but it will shortly have to be replaced by a new one, the cost of which will fall not far below One Thousand Dollars.The Road owns fourteen engines, and the Round House affords accommodation for but seven.
