Author of the History of the County Palatine of DurhamIt was probably in consequence of our long ao quaintance, and the similarity in one respect at least Of our pursuits, that upon the death of Mr. Surtees I was solicited by some of those to whom his memory was dear to undertake a Memoir of his Life, to be pre fixed to the fourth volume of his History, which it was proposed to publish under my superintending care, in the unfinished state in which he had left it. NO one was more urgent in the request than Mr. Taylor.
