If he does not, he simply puts up with what he has. The storyteller must patch the old things together with stuff of his own. THere was a bear dance of some sort, but we hardly know what. THe legend of Iphigenia has come down to us, but the rites of Artemis are long forgotten and can only be guessed from a few hints. We cannot know the appearance of the image and can only imagine that it was not originally Greek. But we do know little girls and can think what growing meant to them inside their own world, so different from ours.
