The Chasm Between Us

Med student Sam Cardiff knows loss and regret all too well. After a gritty youth and some wrong turns, he is back on the right track though he prefers to keep his trauma below the surface.

When his beloved cat, Pete, is the victim of a hit and run, his past returns to haunt him. He tries hard to keep the pain masked from his family and his bestfriend, Ryan. To numb the shame, he turns to drinking. His thoughts and choices cause him to spiral quickly, until he meets surfer Gracie Goldstone.

She's optimistic, full of joy and down-to-earth. A spark is ignited between the two, however Gracie is not without her own scars. The closer they become, the nearer Sam is to the edge that'll force him to understand what it means to love, be loved, and overcome his darkness.

Set in Melbourne, The Chasm Between Us tells a story of love, loss and redemption. It is Campbell's first novel.
