The Wrong Proposal

Being a friend’s plus one at a wedding where nobody knows me has benefits. Like having nothing to lose by making the scowling, handsome stranger in the corner smile.

There must be something in the wine to make me this flirty.
I playfully flutter my lashes and chat as though we have known each other for years.

Suddenly, his beautiful eyes darken, and, in that moment, it dawns on me.
No. No. No.
Not him!
We have met before—and it didn’t end well.
I have to get out of here before he figures out who I am.
Escape before he remembers my role in the public disaster that humiliated him.

Now, I have everything to lose with my professional reputation at stake.
Only I’m stranded with roads blocked by the snowstorms blowing in a week before Christmas. And it’s impossible to hide away the entire weekend.

Resisting his charm is more difficult than I thought when his eyes tell me it’s GAME ON.
How big of a mistake could it be if I play…

It’s only one night, right?
