When the Light Turned Red: A Novel

When he was fifteen years old, Sola Adesesan made a fatal error that splintered not just his family—driving a wedge between his brother, father and himself—it caused a schism within his own soul. Despite external markers of success; a thriving start-up, a charming personality, and a solid group of friends, including his closest ally, Derin, he has struggled with an unnameable restlessness.
Twenty-four-year-old Rebecca Arinze is a smart, ambitious fashion influencer and an up-and-coming manager in a telco, with a clear vision for her life and a mother who’s given her everything. But she grapples with bouts of insecurity and a nagging sense of incompleteness—borne from her father’s abandonment and untimely death. When she runs into Sola, she mistakes it for a chance encounter, little does she realise that it's anything but.
As secrets rise to the surface, they must confront the past and decide what comes next.
Simi Joel’s When The Light Turned Red is a story of hope after loss, of redemption after denial, of love against all odds, and of faith after falling. A reminder that there’s a divine love that finds the undeserving exactly where they are.
