Life on Hold

Rae Maddox is used to starting over.

Her mom, Gina, loves new towns, new jobs, and new adventures, but for Rae, every move means losing friends and feeling like an outsider. When they settle in Wisconsin, Gina promises they’ll stay until Rae graduates, and for the first time, Rae begins to believe she can build a real life at Whitman High School—with friends and even a chance at love.

Then Rae is paired with Allison Daly, a troubled new student whose parents died in a suspicious house fire. After a sleepover at Rae’s house goes horribly wrong, Rae discovers a dangerous side of Allison—and unsettling secrets about her own mother. Suddenly, Rae risks losing everything unless she finally takes control of her life.
