Where the Crows Watch: A Gripping Historical Family Saga Based on the True History of a Rural English Farm (The Black Harvest Trilogy #1)

The deaths happened. The people were real. The farm still exists.

Where the Crows Watch is the opening book in The Black Harvest Trilogy, historical fiction built around the extraordinary true history of one English farm — the same farm where the author lives and works today.

Beginning in 1866, the novel brings to life real people and events preserved in the farm’s history. The deaths at the heart of the story really happened, and many of the buildings, photographs, documents and objects connected to those lives still survive on the farm today.

But history leaves gaps. Conversations were not recorded, relationships and private lives cannot always be reconstructed, and the reasons behind some events can never truly be known. Where the historical record falls silent, fiction is used to bring those lives and their world to life.

Atmospheric and haunting, Where the Crows Watch begins a story spanning more than a century — different lives, different eras, all connected by the same piece of land.

The history is real. The story is told through fiction.
