The Vote

One vote could end American democracy. And the man holding it has everything to lose.
When a secret alliance of billionaires, political operatives, and powerful insiders exploit an obscure provision of the Constitution to reshape the American government, newly elected Ohio legislator Hannis Cleer has no idea he is about to become the most important man in the country.

A successful businessman and political newcomer, Hannis entered public office believing he could make a difference. Then a proposed constitutional amendment races through Congress and the states with terrifying speed—one designed to strip away America’s checks and balances and place unprecedented power in the hands of the president.

Now the entire scheme may come down to Ohio.

And Hannis’s vote.

The people behind the amendment have billions at their disposal, politicians under their control, and access to secrets capable of destroying almost anyone. Hannis has secrets of his own—and when persuasion turns to blackmail, threats, and intimidation, his career, his company, and his family are suddenly at risk.

Hannis must decide how much he is willing to sacrifice to stop a constitutional coup. Can one compromised man stand against a political machine prepared to destroy everything he loves to get his vote?
