Tricked by My Stepbrother

stepsister called, not an hour ago, begging me to pick her up from some Halloween frat party her friends dragged her to, and then promptly ditched her, and would I pretty please not tell anyone where she was? Our little secret. One of dozens between us, after all these years. I’ve been back in town from my final deployment for less than a day, but the brat knew I’d never tell her no. I swear she put herself into a bad situation on purpose, just to get my attention. The thing she doesn’t know is she’s always had my attention. She’s my Shortcake. Mine to protect. Mine to love. Mine to teach a lesson. Should’ve known she'd find a way to turn this around on me and it would come back to bite me in the ass.

This Halloween romance is full of delicious tricks and treats with no cheating, no sharing, no cliffhanger, and no other woman/man drama. It has a sticky-sweet guaranteed happily ever after.*
