Summer of Promise (Oregon at Last #7)

In the heart of the Oregon Territory, what will it take to hold a family together when the world seems determined to pull it apart?

Oregon Territory, 1851 – Margaret Hudson, her fifteen-year-old son, Lawrence, and her two sisters-in-law arrived in the Oregon Territory less than a year ago.

As a widow in a rugged frontier town, she’s known for her strength and resilience, but the strain of raising a headstrong teenager on her own is beginning to take its toll. Lawrence is eager to prove himself a man, but his growing defiance and restless spirit threaten to unravel the fragile balance Margaret has fought so hard to maintain.

Amidst these tensions, Margaret is forced to confront her own identity—who is she without the constant struggle to survive? What does it mean to be a woman alone in a land that values strength above all else? As Lawrence pulls away and the demands of her family weigh heavier than ever, Margaret must navigate the delicate balance between holding on and letting go.

Can Margaret find the courage to embrace change, or will the forces pulling at her family tear them apart for good?
