Islands in the Mist (Islands in the Mist, #1)

The Romans say the women of the isle are witches.

And they most certainly are.

Shrouded in mist and hidden from the world of men, the Sisterhood has grown in power for generations. Only those within the Great Circle know of the ancient hallow they steward—a hallow that has disappeared, along with the most powerful priestess among them.

When reports of nocturnal predators begin spreading terror throughout the Great Circle, battle-hardened warrior Bran is summoned home to defend his people.

The clan blames wolves, but Bran's dying mother insists it was something far more sinister than that.

On his journey for answers, Bran meets Lucia, a young widow burdened by visions that invariably come to pass. Lucia possesses the Sight, an ancient gift she has been raised to hide—but someone knows the truth about her heritage and has been watching her for years.

Bran rallies the greatest warriors of the Great Circle to fight their supernatural enemies, yet his most unlikely allies may prove to be the ones with the power to save them: Lucia, her strangely gifted stable boy, and a mute selkie with secrets of her own.

As the dead rise and terror mounts, Bran is forced to go where no living man should.

To save his people, he makes a pact with Arawn, God of Death—but bargains with Death always have a price.

History, myth, and magic collide in this atmospheric historical fantasy for lovers of Celtic lore and Arthurian legend.
