Fatal Attraction (Millcrest Falls #0.5)

When PR meets murder, some homecomings are deadlier than others.

PR executive Ellie Summers never planned to return to Millcrest Falls. But after a devastating career scandal leaves her reputation in tatters, she reluctantly accepts a temporary contract to rebrand her struggling hometown as a tourist destination. Six months, then back to her real career.

That plan dies when Jackson Porter does.

The town's wealthiest—and most despised—businessman is found murdered during the grand reopening of the historic mill. Suspicion falls on Mayor Bennett after their public argument, but Ellie knows there's more to the story. Porter was blackmailing half the town council. His young wife stands to inherit a fortune. His business partner has been cooking the books for years.

With a storm isolating Millcrest Falls and reporters circling, Ellie puts her crisis management skills to unexpected use. But when she discovers a hidden room in the mill containing century-old secrets, she realizes the killer will stop at nothing to keep certain histories buried.

Now Ellie must work with skeptical Sheriff Morgan, sharp-tongued historian Eileen, and ruggedly charming wilderness guide Finn Sullivan to unmask the murderer before the storm clears—and before she becomes the next victim.

She came home to save the town's image. Staying alive would be a bonus.

FATAL ATTRACTION is the prequel novella in the Millcrest Falls Tourism Mystery series. Each book features a complete, standalone mystery while building the relationships readers will follow throughout the series.
