SECRETS OF THE DEEP

SECRETS OF THE DEEP

An Aegean naval thriller about a sunken U-boat, a buried war crime, and a secret worth killing for.

When Greek wreck diver Markos Leonides signs on to explore a World War II U-boat lying off a remote Aegean island, he thinks it’s just another dangerous job in deep water.

Until he finds a name inside the rusted hull — a name that should have died with the war.

In Istanbul, Turkish naval officer Cem Taner uncovers a classified file linking the lost U-boat to a secret Allied operation gone catastrophically wrong. The file points to someone who has been burying the truth for eighty years.

As Markos and Cem follow the clues from Athens to Izmir and the depths of the Aegean Sea, they are drawn into a hidden war between governments, intelligence services and powerful families who will do anything to keep the past submerged.

Bodies start to fall. Evidence disappears. And the wreck on the seabed is no longer history — it’s a crime scene.

To survive, they must trust each other across old borders, and solve a mystery that began in the burning waters of 1943…

before the truth triggers a new conflict above the waves.

Perfect for readers who enjoy high–stakes naval adventures, WWII secrets colliding with the present, the atmosphere of the Aegean Sea, and the tension of modern geopolitics.

SECRETS OF THE DEEP is the first novel in the Markos Leonides / Cem Taner universe — a fast-paced thriller that blends history, conspiracy, and the unforgiving power of the sea.
