When Rowan Turner catches her boyfriend cheating, she does what any other sofa-loving, city girl would do. She drunkenly books a solo walk in the Scottish Highlands, determined to prove that she can do it alone.

Only hiking comes with more challenges than Rowan expects – from aching feet and spitting rain to Angus Mackenzie, the sexy, surly Scotsman with arms like a lumberjack who’s less than pleased to find an English lass on his trail.

Angus is walking for one reason only – to mourn his Da ahead of the anniversary of his death. He’s got no interest in company, especially not from a mouthy, incompetent Londoner whose rainbow outfits stick out like a sore thumb.

But on the narrow trail, avoiding each other isn’t so easy – especially when broken tents, sprained ankles and even their fellow hikers conspire to bring them together. And as the miles add up and sparks unexpectedly fly, will either risk the greater challenge: letting someone else in?
