Conflict of Interest: African Murder Mystery

Yetunde Ogunniyi was in Barrister Segun Williams’ bed when he was found murdered.

Now she stands accused of killing him. Yetunde had been involved in a secret affair with him, and every piece of evidence points directly at her. Many see her as just another young woman entangled with an older married man and are convinced she must be guilty.

Gideon Akinyemi was once Lagos’ most feared defense attorney, famous for his unorthodox methods and his willingness to defend the guilty. But after a shocking courtroom defeat, Gideon vanished from the legal scene, his once formidable reputation fading. Now determined to make a comeback, he takes on Yetunde’s case — a trial that could restore his legacy or destroy what remains of it. Standing in his way is his old rival, the only lawyer who has ever defeated him in court.

Caught in the middle is Onome, a brilliant and ambitious young lawyer who has long admired Gideon’s legal genius but struggles with the moral weight of the clients he chooses to defend.

As the trial unfolds and long buried secrets begin to surface, the question is not simply who killed Segun Williams.
It is how far someone is willing to go to win.
