Deadly First Edition (Boone's Book Nook Bookstore Mysteries)

Sadie Whitfield finally has the fresh start she wanted. Boone’s Book Nook is open, fall has arrived in Normal, Kentucky, and her biggest problem should be keeping her mischievous orange tabby, Watson, out of trouble.

Then her former New York author, Basil Winterbourne, walks into the bookstore carrying the only copy of a long-buried true-crime manuscript.

Hours later, Basil is dead.

Now Sadie is left with a cryptic inscription, an old forest fire, a decades-old secret, and a growing list of suspects who would rather the past stay buried. With the Laundry Club Ladies eager to investigate, three very different men complicating her love life, and Watson supervising every clue, Sadie will have to use her editor’s eye to separate fact from fiction before the killer makes one final edit.

A funny, twisty Southern cozy mystery filled with small-town secrets, bookish charm, loyal friends, and one very opinionated cat.
