Purrfect Slop (The Mysteries of Max, #108)

You know a case is going to be interesting when it starts with a man who hears a mysterious peep in his ear.
At first, Rainer Titmus seems like just another odd human. Trust me, in Hampton Cove that hardly narrows things down. But when Dooley and I decide to follow him around for a little amateur surveillance, we stumble into a world of miracle cures, suspicious doctors, eccentric artists, fashion designers with enormous egos, and enough strange behavior to keep a cat busy for weeks.
Then a young fashion designer is found murdered.
Suddenly everyone is hiding secrets. A mysterious artist is taking the art world by storm. A clinic is making some very big promises. And the more Odelia digs, the more it becomes clear that somebody is willing to go to extraordinary lengths to protect what they have built.
As for me? I'm trying to keep Dooley focused, avoid getting dragged into cat choir business, and figure out why humans insist on making their lives so complicated when a good nap would solve at least half their problems.
Can a large, handsome tabby uncover the truth before another body drops?
Probably.
After all, that's what I do.
