Into the Swamps

A blind enslaved hunter.
A runaway plantation wife.
A hunt neither will survive unchanged.

Louisiana
1853

Years ago, Rachel Lynn was dragged into the Louisiana wilderness with a black sack over her head. The boy who saved her vanished before the riders arrived—a runaway slave named Hunter, who paid dearly for daring to seek freedom.
Now, Rachel is trapped in a brutal marriage to the most powerful plantation owner in Louisiana.

Hunter still belongs to the same plantation. Blinded after his failed escape, he has become something known to both slaves and a tracker of animals and men. But when Rachel disappears into the swamps to escape a husband descending into madness, Hunter is given one order.

Bring her back.

But the deeper Hunter follows her into the Louisiana marsh, the more dangerous the hunt becomes. Rachel is no longer the frightened girl he once saved.

And Hunter is no longer certain he wants to bring her back.
