Red Snow: A Novel of power and desire (Witness to an Era)

An empire on the brink of ruin. A vanished scientist's mysterious return. Lives entangled in the pursuit of power.

Red Snow brings together science fiction, historical allegory, and political satire. From Professor Marshall to emperors, consorts, and ministers, its characters inhabit a world shaped by imperial ambition, desire, fear, and moral conflict. Palace intrigue opens onto a wider meditation on civilizations that rise, collapse, and leave their ruins behind.

Moving between the intimate lives of its characters and the forces that govern them, Leo Mai's novel asks what happens to conscience when power becomes absolute—and what remains of humanity when desire turns destructive.

For readers interested in speculative fiction, political allegory, and the human cost of power.
