The Art of Synastry, Volume I: Into the Wildlands of Love and Relationships
Overview
The Art of Synastry is a body of writing that explores the mystery of relationship – the meeting place between us, the dance between destiny and hands, fate and free will, attraction and intimacy, and the inner landscapes that each of us carries into love.
Through deep dives, lyrical essays, astrological techniques and lived stories, I explore not only why we meet the people we do, but what happens within us when we meet them; what shapes us and what we begin shaping. There’s you, there’s me, and then, there’s the relationship – a land born of us, a soul of its own, with its own soil, nutritive needs, temperatures, and seasons.
Relationships begin long before two charts meet. We arrive carrying our own memories, histories, desires, ways of loving and being loved, and natal vows and promises that shape what we seek and what is seeking us.
Drawing from decades of my work, study, research, lived experiences, intuitive insights, and my professional work as a spiritual astrologer and guide for clients worldwide, this collection brings together Western, Vedic, Esoteric and Shamanic approaches to relationship astrology, alongside spiritual teachings on love, intimacy, destiny and the soul.
Here, synastry isn't merely a technique for measuring compatibility. It is an art of seeing and an art of loving — a way of understanding ourselves more deeply through the people we love, the relationships that change us, and the mysterious spaces that open when two inner worlds meet.
The Art of Synastry takes us into the wildlands of love and relationships: into the gardens and wild natures, the unknowns, uncharted lands and untamed places, the thresholds and rooms and corridors of the houses we live in, the seasons of closeness and those of distance. Synastry is a living landscape of a relationship – where we continuously enter, create and become together.
And in these lands, sometimes we’re water, sometimes fire, sometimes vows before our time; and sometimes, when we are out in the wilderness, we re-learn to make fire of sticks, and find our way back to each other.
The Art of Synastry, Volume I begins before the two charts meet. We can only meet another as deeply as we’ve met ourselves, and in this deeper exploration, we find what leads towards the otherness. We each carry our own soil: our memories, desires, ways of loving and being loved, the patterns and beliefs we inherited and lived, the impulses that move us, and the natal promises already waiting for us.
Beginning with the art of relationships themselves, this volume explores the inner life and heart of relationship, the rooms we share and the spaces we create between one another, and the delicate ways through which love is tended. From there, we move into the spiritual threads of why we meet, the timing and purpose of significant encounters, and the mysterious meeting place between destiny and our own hands.
Through the seventh house and the relationship axis, the houses of love and intimacy, Saturn, Moon and Venus, Juno, Eros and Psyche, we begin to understand the relational landscape already alive within our natal chart.
We then enter the doorways to the spouse our soul seeks and the path of the soul through relationship, exploring darakaraka and the Navamsa, before moving into the Vedic art of relationships and deeper and more subtle synastry aspects revealing the flow of masculine and feminine energy, attraction, karmic binding, instinct, physical intimacy and the animal nature within us, and the higher purpose of why we meet whom we meet, and why we love whom we love.
