Overview
Two years and 167 days in a dungeon. One name left on his list.

Gilmir was an assassin for the elves until he began talking to his marks instead of killing them. In Shacktown that got him poisoned, caged and left to starve. Councilman Voan had his fingernails pulled and kept his two swords.

He gets out through the sewers with a halfling thief whose limp comes and goes. He wants three things: a decent bottle of wine, his blades, and Voan dead.

Ada is nineteen and grew up on the streets of Sandcastle, where magic is a crime. She can pull the heat out of a fire without knowing how. When a dead gladiator breaks into her friend's shop hunting a shard of fallen star, Ada sets him alight, burns the shop down and runs.

The dead man leads her to Shacktown, where children fight for bets and five councilmen are the only law. Someone there is collecting shards. And someone made Gilmir's escape far too easy.

An elf who kills for a living. A mage nobody taught. A thief with a limp, and a dwarf who poisons his own door handle.

An Assassin's Vengeance is Book One of the complete Mage & Assassin trilogy: dark, fast sword and sorcery with dry humour. Contains torture, sexual threat and graphic violence.
