Jake's Story (Christmas Key, #0.5)

How does a young, sexy cop end up on a tropical island full of retirees and unpaved roads?

Officer Jake Zavaroni decides to leave his Miami beat after a traumatic event sends him into an emotional tailspin. His ex-girlfriend is another good reason to skip town, and putting more miles between the two of them is just a bonus.

But once Jake arrives on Christmas Key, he realizes he's traded drugs, guns, and big city life for the much slower pace of a small town. The fact that the island's mayor is thirty, gorgeous, and feisty isn't lost on Jake as he gets settled in to his new home, and their fast-blooming friendship holds the promise of something more down the road...

Jake's Story is a companion novella to the Christmas Key series. It offers the reader a chance to see how Jake ended up on the island, and how his relationship with Holly blossomed from their first meeting. It can be read at any point in the series!
