The Book of Nehemiah (The Holy Bible #16) NASB

Nehemiah the son of Hacaliah, is cupbearer to the king in the royal Persian city of Susa. With permission, Nehemiah takes a leave of absence from the court of King Artaxerxes (Artashir) (approximately 445 B.C.- before CHRIST) and goes to Jerusalem where he oversees the REBUILDING OF THE WALL. The King appoints Nehemiah governor in the land of Judah where he spends 12 years governing and reconciling between the people. In the 12 years he served as governor he never accepted the governor's food allowance because the servitude was already too heavy on this people.

"So the wall was finished....And it happened, when all our enemies heard of it, and all the nations around us saw these things, that they were very disheartened in their own eyes; for they perceived that this work was done by our God." Nehemiah 6:15-16
