Captain (Time Served MC #5)

Auggie ‘Captain’ Brass is enjoying the bachelor life. He’s got a new house, a thriving law practice, and friends around him that he knows he can trust. His work for paying clients fuels his passion - helping people who might get railroaded by overworked public defenders and a justice system that can only see black and white.

When he finally decides to take on an associate, she comes with her own assistant and a pocketful of secrets that will change his life.

Matalie is a go-getter who survived one of the most heartbreaking things that can happen to a woman. After she gets revenge against the man that cost her everything but her life, she pays the price and then works to build a new life with a new direction - helping others who shouldn’t have been convicted for doing society a favor and ridding it of one more piece of trash.

When her beloved niece comes to her with information and asks for her help, Matalie is all in and ready to put herself in the hotseat to see just what her niece is getting into. Once she secures a job in the law office she was aiming for, she meets a man who isn’t quite ready for the bomb she’s about to drop on his life or the gift she’s about to give him.

Neither one of them is ready for the sparks that fly, but if they can keep the fire contained between them, it just might burn bright for the rest of their lives.
